Moving image works at the core of the practice. Through the relationships among color, light, movement, stillness, and time, they explore how painterly images transform over time.
Fields of cyan, white, and black slowly transform as they traverse the frame. Subtle tremors and shifts in luminosity bring planar color and spatial depth into alternation. Within a stable overarching composition, the work considers the transformation of color and light over time.
Multiple layers of red, cyan, and black overlap, gradually altering the density of the image. The boundaries between forms remain unfixed, continually redrawn by subtle distortions and shifts. The work considers the relationship between digital processing and a painterly surface.
Monochrome forms flow, merging and separating in continuous succession. Contrasts of light and dark, together with an intricate surface, generate depth and afterimage across the picture plane. Through its restricted palette, the work foregrounds movement, temporal change, and the gradation of black.
Densely layered fields of pink, red, lime, and cream shift continually in composition and luminosity. Overlapping colors, passages of black negative space, and subtle distortions continuously reorganize the balance of the image. The work centers on chromatic relationships and painterly density.
Within a predominantly black space, ribbed forms rendered primarily in yellow gradually transform. Repeated lines and shifting contrasts across layered structures give rise to an organic structure and a sense of three-dimensional depth. The work is organized around darkness, materiality, and the transformation of light.
